A BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO ELOPEMENT AT SAPPHIRE POINT

Brooke and Cam’s Sapphire Point elopement in Dillon, Colorado was seriously PERFECT! I absolutely love being an elopement and wedding photographer in Colorado because it constantly takes me to so many beautiful spots in the mountains and I get to spend my days hiking with awesome couples. 🙂 When Brooke first reached out about wanting a winter elopement in Colorado, I was so excited!! We clicked immediately and I knew from the start that we would be great friends. We decided on Sapphire Point because they were staying in Breckenridge and wanted something with an awesome backdrop. Sapphire Point is this amazing mountain overlook with a backdrop of epic mountains and Lake Dillon. It is a perfect place to exchange vows and I don’t think their day could have went any more perfectly!

Brooke and Cam came all the way from Georgia to elope here in Colorado, and spent the week in an awesome resort right off of the ski slopes in Breckenridge. On the day of their elopement, I met them at their hotel and hung out as they got ready. It was so stress free, relaxed, and all about the two of them. When Brooke was almost ready, Cam headed to Sapphire Point so we could meet him there and do their first look. Their first look was MAGICAL and Cam cried when he seen her!! It was the most adorable moment ever. 

One thing that makes Colorado such a special place to elope is that you don’t need an officiant and can have a self-solemnization instead. Cam & Brooke opted out of an officiant and decided to exchange their vows completely privately, just the two of them. Their hand written vows brought tears to my eyes and it was such a special moment to be a part of. I love the idea of having a self-solemnization because you can truly customize your ceremony to be exactly what you want. 

After their ceremony we hiked all around Sapphire Point and had a blast taking photos and celebrating! Being a part of their elopement was so incredible and special. A few things from Brooke…

How did the two of you meet? We went at a bar one night. So I walked in told my best friend “that boy right there is going to be my boyfriend” she thought I was crazy! I walked over sat down beside him.. kept trying to talk to him allll night. He kept ignoring me finally I asked him to take a shot with me been together ever since that night 4 Years ago!  

Your proposal story? He proposed to me in Disney world last September on Miley’s (my daughter) birthday! 

What have been some of the most defining moments in your relationship? Sticking by my side through my moms cancer, parenting together although Miley isn’t his real daughter, being so broke before that we would eat off the $1 menu every night at McDonald’s but it was some of the happiest times we had together… knowing if we’re poor or have money in the bank we love each other even when times aren’t perfect.
